ILCA Nationals at RQYS and Under 23 Age Category

The 2025 Oceania & Australian Open & Youth Championships will be held at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Manly Queensland  between 1-8 January 2025. This will be a terrific event with great conditions at a super club – what’s not to like.

For this event AusILCA in co-operation with organisers QILCA will be recognising Under 23 age category sailors in ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 classes. AusILCA strongly supports the inclusion of Under 23 as a formal age category in the class at all levels. We are seeking change in ILCA International including adding the category to current Under 21 World Championships and amendment of the Award By-Laws to allow the category to be recognised with cubes.  Recognition with prizes in our Oceania & Australia events is a first step we can take in support of this change.
